Quote-to-order handoff checklist
Use this as an open check, not a score of your stack.
- Ownership. When a buyer asks for a price, one clear person owns the next step until the quote is sent or declined.
- Specials and account rules. Exceptions travel with the quote. They are not reinvented in a side note when the order is booked.
- What you can promise. Before the quote goes out, someone can see whether the line items are real to promise, without a scavenger hunt.
- Buyer confirmation. The buyer can see status or confirm the quote without calling to ask what happened.
- Handoff into the order. Sales, ops, and whoever books the order keep the same thread. Details are not retyped into a second place.
- Follow-up. A quiet quote gets a next step without someone having to remember it alone.
If several of these stall, the gap is usually the workflow between quote and order, not "try harder."
